Land of receptive and hospitable people, Padre Paraíso, located in the Jequitinhonha Valley, has in its roots the cultural heritage of small farmers, prospectors and adventurers who were once attracted to the city due to the discovery of precious stones in the region and the arrival of religious, among them, Father Agostinho Francisco, who gave the city its name.
